What a great inexpensive navigational aid for singlehanding your boat! Very easy to install also. Oh and if you're wondering what the heck the red thing is on the cockpit floor under the tiller it's the dog food/water bowl:)

Really hating to put holes in my boat I decided to try just tying off to the aft stanchion on either side of the tiller and it works perfectly!

I know a guy that sells boats and told him I was looking for a dinghy. I was considering "LEISURE LIFE WaterTender 9.4 Rowing Dinghy" from West Marine. At 499 dollars one of the better deals around for the money but before I bought it this guy got back to me and told me about this Quicksiver 7'9" air floor/motor for 500 dollars. SOLD!!

One small problem. The Quicksiver had come with a 2 stroke 3.5hp 2001 Nissan motor[on the left](in almost perfect condition with only a few hours on it) but I had already bought the 4 stroke 2.5hp 2006 Suzuki[on the right]. Well, not so much of a problem. I sold the Nissan for 450 dollars, (a good deal I think) and ended paying only 50 dollars for the inflatable. BUT WAIT! THERE"S MORE! Along with the motor and inflatable there were life vests, over-sized air pump, pole holders that fit the oar slots, pole holder rail slots for install on the C-25, a bosons chair, safety harness, stow bag for the dinghy, canvas cover for the dinghy, cover for the motor, tool kit for the motor, motor lock, and a few other things I can't remember. Best buy I ever made. And my friend that sold me the stuff could have kept it and pieced it out but didn't. Nice guy.

I actually didn't see this dangerous (lack of)repair[on left] when I bought Bamboo but when I did I knew it had to be repaired correctly before it broke while at sail. The "Boom End Casting w/Tang" was only about[phone number]from Catalina Direct. I was told though that the stainless screws holding the cap on could be corroded and frozen which would incorporate drilling out the old screws. To my luck they were stiff but did not brake on exit and had already been changed out to a larger size screw. I went one step further by replacing them with a socket headed bolt for a better grip next time. The Tang that connects to the mainsheet swings port and starboard and is held in place by a 9/16(i think) stainless bolt but came with only one lock nut which is attached to the Boom End Casting on the INSIDE of the boom before you screw it in place so I doubled up the nuts to ensure that they would stay in place. Oh, I forgot to tell you I found a washer and 9/16 nut roaming around the inside of the boom when I got the Boom End Casting off :) Anyway, the finished product is on the right, all I have to do now is replace the outhaul and I'll be ready to go!
